Communications Training Team
Courses are held at various places round the Wing. The programme page shows the currently planned sessions; keep checking back for updates.
This topic is taught as part of recruit training by all Squadrons. It is an essential introduction to the other courses and needs to be thoroughly understood before cadets enrol for other courses.
Assistance may be requested from the Communications Training Team and copies of the ACP & a sample exam can be downloaded from this web site.
The team offer the following modules as standard:
Courses are run at a number of Squadrons, by the team and with the approval of the Wing Radio & Communications, under arrangement made with the Squadron CO. All Squadrons are able to send candidates to any of these courses. The 'Programme' page shows all courses currently proposed and approved.
Any Squadron wishing to host courses should contact the This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. in the first instance or express their interest at one of the regular meetings. Basic facilities required include classroom spaces and a WiFi broadband internet link; a canteen is usually welcome too.
The team do not routinely offer courses in the other modules but can do so on request. Courses such as HF Operator, for example, are often run at the initiative of individual team members but all such events still have to be approved by the Wing Radio & Communications Officer.
