ACF Signallers' courses can be found at http://acfccfsignals.org.uk/coursedates.php and they will consider bids from Air Cadets who are suitably enthusiastic and experienced.

Some Notes

All our courses are informal.  All staff and cadets wear 'civvies', smart casual.  We don't mind clean jeans etc but anyone turning up in scruff order will be turned away!  There's a lot of practical work, some of it outdoors, so a warm waterproof coat and a set of coveralls are very useful too.

For the UHF/VHF courses you will, ideally:
    Be First Class or above
    Have had some radio experience
    Be thoroughly familiar with ACP31 vol 6 Basic Communications
    Be confident with voice procedures and the phonetic alphabet.

For the two-day, four modules courses you will, ideally:
    Be Leading Cadet or above
    Have reviewed ACP35 vol 3 Advanced Radio and Radar
    Have reviewed ACP35 vol 4 Satellite Communications.

For the one-day HF Fieldwork courses you will, ideally:
    Have passed the UHF/VHF module
    Be intending to attend the Folkestone Weekend

For the weekend HF Radio competitions you will, ideally:
    Have attended the one-day HF Fieldwork courses

Charges - (with effect from October 2008)

As with all Sussex Wing courses, there is a charge of £5 per person per day (payable to "Sussex Wing Welfare Fund") for courses run by the Communications Training Team.

The Regional HF weekend competition is run by LASER and the charge for that will be set based on their guidelines.
