The cadet should demonstrate an understanding of the principles of Advanced Radio Communications.

Enabling Objectives:

A Pass mark in the examination at Senior Cadet classification level or at Wing / Region level in an exam set by the Wing / Region Communications Officer.

Background Information

This is an optional module.

The Advanced Radio and Radar examination is one of a number of options available to cadets as part of their normal training programme. Exam papers are set by Headquarters Air Cadets and cadets take the tests under formal examination conditions monitored by senior staff.  The examination papers are available at any time but many units are restricted as to when they may be taken by Wing or Regional authorities for their own convenience.

Communications training teams also have access to the same examination papers and may  set examinations as part of their training courses.

In order not to conflict with other authorities it has been agreed that a pass in the normal course of training may be counted towards the Communicator's Badge but a pass as part of a communications training course cannot be counted towards the normal classification training.  Every effort is made to run these modules at the same time as the normal exam sessions to maximise the use made of the training.
