Would you like a course at your unit?
- we'd love to come visiting
Wherever possible, courses are run at locations spread around the
county to make things easier for attendees. The sites used are
also chosen to ensure that the necessary
facilities are available and that the organisation's duty of care to
the cadets can be met.
Any unit that wishes to host a course is welcome to
contact the team leader and will, almost certainly, receive a positive
response if the basic requirements can be met.
Courses enrol up to 36 cadets and involve up to 10 staff
depending upon the topics being covered. All courses need at
one classroom and a separate rest room for the staff to work
in. Most lectures include PowerPoint presentations or overhead
projector slides and almost every course needs multiple electrical
sources. The practical exercises and UHF/VHF modules inevitably occupy larger
areas and multiple locations and the internet module requires access
to a computer network with one computer per candidate (groups of up
to 18) and
one for the instructor.
All attendees provide their own packed lunch and an area where
this can be consumed is also required. Facilities for tea and
coffee making are needed throughout the day and the usual toilet and
washing facilities.
